Our infant & toddler program is designed for children 6 months to 23 monthsto introduce them to the basics of Montessori and preschool with a carefully prepared environment and the program in which children can grow healthy and happily. This is often the first experience away from their parents for these children, so we keep our ratios low in order to give the children the individual attention they need. Our infant classroom caters to children ages 6 months to 12 months. The children in our toddler classrooms range from approximately 13 months to 23 months.
This program provides a home away from home experience for both parent and child. The parent will feel comfort in knowing that the staff are caring, nurturing and experienced individuals, educated in Montessori and Child Development. Throughout the program, we make time to observe andinteract with each child, offering conversation and manipulative materials at receptive moments. As your child progresses from sitting to crawling to walking, from bottles to feeding themselves, we are there to encourage and assist them every step of the way. Our primary goal is to help parents and children in the separation process and encourage a spirit of co-nurturing between teachers and parents modelling respect, gentleness and caring. While supporting the development of sensory, language, expression, development of physical movement both gross and fine motor skills we ensure and also support children’s understanding of order, and cause and effect relationships.
The teachers will observe your child and prepare the environment and daily schedule based on their individual needs and daily written documentations and communication with the parents is provided. The teacher will guide the development of the skills such as Feeding, Diaper Changes, Potty Training, Crawling and Exploration, Music/Art, Songs and Nursery Rhymes, Peer Social Interactions and Activities, Sensory Based Learning Experiences, Reading to Infant/& Toddlers, Outdoor Play, Fine and Gross Motor Development, Rest Time on Demand.
At IMM, we believe that children learn by doing and they acquire knowledge about their world through playful interaction with objects and people. Children are motivated to learn by their own desire to make sense of their world. We are committed to providing a developmentally appropriate program with the help of trained teachers, using a variety of materials and equipment. We engage children in an environment that is child-initiated, child-directed, and teacher supported and have lots of fun.
